Mampai Ndlovu’s Levitical Altar Launch
Mampai Ndlovu perfoming at AFM HRC on the 1st of April 2017 |
Gospel star in the making Mampai Ndlovu had a Levitical
Altar launch in the build-up of her recording an album. The Launch was held at
Apostolic Faith Missions, Hilltop Restoration Centre on 1st of April
2017.
Mampai is part of the worship team at AFM Hilltop
Restoration Centre. She always takes to the stage on Sundays and blessing
people with great spiritual music with her remarkable soothing voice.
After numerous attempts from people - who kept on asking her when she is recording her album because of her lovely voice - she decided to have what she calls a Levitical Altar Launch. Mampai believes that God has called her to be the minister of the word of God through song. She has a conviction in her heart that the Holy Spirit has revealed God’s calling upon her life in the music/praise and worship ministry.
The name “Levitical Altar” is inspired by the name “Levi” which means connect/attached according to the book of Genesis and the word “Altar” which is a place where people encounter God. The tribe of Levi (one of the tribes of Israel) was chosen by God for specific tasks in Israel.

“I have learnt and
believe that being a Levite entails leading God’s people in song, in praise and
worship, connecting with God and His people, being set apart for Gods work,
singing with skill, always being in the presence of God or carrying Gods
presence, atoning for oneself and for others, and expressing reverence for God
and acknowledging his presence by bowing, clapping, dancing, raising of hands
and etc. I trust God for a ministry that will have an impact on people and that
they will attest to connecting with God and that the experience will be life
changing. I believe that God will provide platforms for me to express my calling.”
Explains Mampai.
The free event had a massive turn out, attracting a very diverse audience that included varying age groups.
Before the show she happily took pictures with the attendees, proving that she is a people’s star.
Mampai with her Husband and the Levite |
For the launch, the gospel star invited a guest artist to
share the momentum with her. Tebogo Modiba her close friend joined her for two
songs, a move that was met with great applause by the audience.
She shares that her husband is her biggest fan and that
he pushed her to do the launch.
“I worked with my husband to make the launch a reality.
Marvin Mashego was my musical director, conductor, and he wrote two songs for
me. Mehlo from Mehlowethu Productions was of great help as he co-produced and
directed the technical aspect of the show together with Marvin, and many others
who got involved and made that night happen,” she adds.
The singer surprisingly reveals that they only had six
weeks to prepare for the launch. She plans to have a live recording around
September but is still looking for a venue – but will continue to perform in
the meantime to keep up with the momentum.
Her launch was impressive; the star delivered a show that
is worth remembering.
